Pier To Be Completed This Week

11/26/2013

All Royal Shores Residents

-The rebuilt pier will be completed before Thanksgiving, providing adverse weather doesn't slow down the process; and the new Security Light and Pole (with camera) should be installed by December 10th. When the pier is ready for community use, please take an opportunity to visit the Pier Park to see the improvement.

-At the recent Board meeting, residents asked when it was appropriate to call the HPD Non-emergency number: 713-884-3131. Now that we have invested in the replacement of the deteriorating pier with a new structure, it is even more important to contact HPD whenever there is a suspicious gathering of people in or around the Pier Park....particularly after dusk. The holiday period is on us and whenever school is out for an extended period of time, we notice a marked increase in people in the Pier Park often times, leaving bottles, cans, and other trash to litter our property. The Board asks for your assistance in contacting HPD when you observe inappropriate or suspicious activities in any of the Royal Shores park areas. Vandalism of our property is a serious problem and every resident should take part in protecting our community facilities. In addition, even though there are "No Soliciting" signs posted in the community, they are generally ignored by solicitors. So, when you see solicitors in the community, do not approach them yourselves, call HPD and tell them your concerns. Of course, if you feel threatened at any time, suspect criminal mischief in the community, or you have an emergency, call 911 immediately.

-The 2014 Annual Assessment notices are being mailed this week. As a reminder, payments not received and credited by January 1, 2014 are considered past due. However, there is a grace period (no interest) for past due payments credited by January 31. Any assessments not paid in full and credited by January 31 are considered delinquent and will be assessed interest at the rate of 10% per annum from the date originally due (January 1). Beginning March 1, any remaining delinquent Assessments are charged additional interest plus a monthly late payment charge ($75 per month or portion thereof) until the Assessment and interest is paid in full.

-Finally, the Board wishes everyone a happy, healthy, and safe Holiday Season!!!
