Solicitation Issues in Royal Shores
Despite the “No Solicitation” signs posted in the neighborhood, from time to time, solicitors do go door to door in our community. Today, we received a complaint from a resident warning about solicitors for a home security/alarm company. An attempt was made to contact the company to ask them to pull their representatives out of the area. However, the company’s telephone loop would not connect to a management person. If a solicitor comes to your door, please think twice before letting them into your home since it may be difficult to get them to leave. It is preferred for you to tell them that signs are posted in the neighborhood prohibiting solicitors of any kind….and ask them to leave the neighborhood. Most of the time, that is all that is required. If any solicitor becomes hostile or verbally abusive, please call the HPD non-emergency number, 713-884-3131…..or if you feel threatened by the solicitor, call 9-1-1 immediately.
